Pennoni Associates Hires Cassandra Khazem, PE, as Senior Engineer

Pennoni is pleased to announce that Cassandra Khazem, PE, has been hired as a Senior Bridge Engineer in the firm’s office in Edison, New Jersey. Ms. Khazem previously served as a Supervising Engineer at Parsons Corporation.
“Cassandra is a talented engineer who will be a great addition to our bridge practice,” said John Zarsky, PE, Associate Vice President and Pennoni Regional Transportation Principal. “Her credentials and technical expertise will enhance our overall bridge engineering capabilities and her presence in New Jersey will improve our ability to serve our local transportation clients.”
Ms. Khazem has 18 years’ experience in bridge engineering, with a specialty in complex bridge analysis and design. She has worked on a range of bridges, including suspension, segmental, steel truss and arch, steel girder, and precast concrete girder bridges. She has a strong background in structural dynamics and seismic design, with more than eight years of her experience coming from complex bridges in California and Europe with severe earthquake loading. A graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Architectural/Structural Engineering and a master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Ms. Khazem is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS).
