Pennoni Vice President Presents Paper at IABMAS Conference
Vice President and Transportation Technology Principal David S. Lowdermilk, P.E., presented a paper, co-authored by Emin Aktan, Ph.D., Lawrence Egan, P.E., and John Prader, to the International Conference on Bridge Maintenance, Safety and Management at their international conference in Philadelphia, PA on July 14, 2010. This paper, titled Structural Health Monitoring of Signature Bridges: An Engineer’s Perspective, outlines the successful use of bridge sensor technology in assisting inventory owners in making informed and cost-effective decisions.
Mr. Lowdermilk also serves as Principal of Intelligent Infrastructure Systems (IIS), a division of Pennoni Associates. The mission IIS is to offer world-class applications of the most reliable monitoring, modeling and decision tools and technologies, together with the engineering support and experience of highly respected practicing engineers, to aid infrastructure owners as they preserve and renew their key assets. He has represented the civil engineering community as an expert several times in both print and television interviews, as well as being recognized as the Delaware Valley Engineer of the Year in 2009.
