Naval Square, a Toll Brothers Community, is a 20.63-acre private residential development on the former Naval Home site, at 24th Street and Grays Ferry Avenue. Naval Square consists of the modification and restoration of three existing historic residential buildings and a former hospital into condominiums, and the construction of 15 new townhome buildings, linked with sidewalks and landscaped scenic paths. It is a gated community with access limited to a secured entrance along Gray’s Ferry Avenue.
Pennoni Associates provided survey and civil engineering, environmental and traffic engineering services for this multi-faceted residential development. This fast-tracked design/build project required Pennoni’s experience in the redevelopment and reuse of existing parcels of land within the City of Philadelphia. Pennoni’s knowledge of City Department rules and Pennsylvania Environmental and Historical Department regulations enabled the client to secure permitting and approvals prior to schematic and final design document issuance.
