Pennoni has committed to advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion both in our industry and the communities we serve. Erika L. White, CDE, a leader in the field, will serve as Pennoni’s first Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program Manager. David DeLizza, President & CEO, has also expressed our commitment to these efforts as a signatory of the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce “Our Commitment to Equity” statement published in June 2020.

“We will rely on Erika’s expertise to guide Pennoni in creating a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program with measurable goals and outcomes that will attract diverse talent to our firm,” states Dave DeLizza.

Erika joins Pennoni from the Pennsylvania Convention Center, an ASM Global managed facility, where she served as the head of Diversity and Inclusion. Previously, Erika held the position of Senior Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator for Ballard Spahr LLP. Erika also supported the Philadelphia community holding positions such as Director of the West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival and Director of Community and Government Affairs for the Ogontz Avenue Revitalization Corporation.

Erika has expertise in DEI education, multi-cultural marketing, supplier diversity, community outreach and workforce development. She continues to lend her talents as a DEI subject matter expert and consultant and serves on several diversity related advisory boards and is the co-founder of the networking group, The Philadelphia Diversity Professionals Consortium. She serves as a Board of Trustee for the Shipley School as well as a Board of Director for the Center City Proprietors Association.

She has a Bachelor of Science in Business and Administration from Drexel University Lebow College of Business and has received her designation as a Certified Diversity Executive from the Institute for Diversity Certification. Erika is a mentor to young women, a regular volunteer in her faith, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

Joyce Hess, Vice President and Director of Human Resources, had this to say, “I am excited to have Erika join us, and I know her knowledge and experience in the DEI space will provide value to Pennoni and our colleagues- both current and future. We will develop goals for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs with focus, vision, direction and understanding.”
