Roca Honda Uranium Mill Design

Pennoni’s engineers produced a Design Basis and 30% Design for a conventional uranium mill to be located in this uranium-rich New Mexico district, applying innovative technologies to achieve 95% recovery efficiency.  The 3,500 to 7,000 tons per day mill incorporates molybdenum recovery and U3O8 elution processes from satellite in-situ uranium recovery (ISR) operations.  The mill includes grizzly, SAG mill, acid leach and CCD circuits, solvent extraction, precipitation, and drying processes.  Innovative tailings treatment was incorporated to minimize waste and apply near-zero-liquid discharge to tailings management.  Process design is based on incoming ore with 0.23% U3O8 concentration.
