Adaptive Traffic Control System for SR 0501 Lititz Pike

PennDOT District 8-0 contracted Pennoni to provide engineering design and construction consultation services for the implementation of an Adaptive Traffic Control System at 14 intersections along Lititz Pike (SR 0501) between Keller Avenue/Marshall Avenue and Owl Hill Road/Trolley Run Road in Manheim and Warwich Townships, Lancaster County, PA. Adaptive Traffic Control Systems utilize computerized traffic control algorithms to determine optimal signal timings based on detected traffic volumes and simultaneously and autonomously adjust signal timing parameters in real-time, to respond to actual, real-time traffic conditions.
