USACE New England District Upper Connecticut River Cross Sections
Pennoni provided cross-sections of the Upper Connecticut River in Vermont and New Hampshire for the New England District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. These cross-sections were produced using LIDAR and airborne GPS, which greatly reduced the field time. LIDAR data was processed to “bare earth” and was then combined to the river data, obtained using a digital fathometer, to produce completed cross-sections of the Connecticut River Valley from second bank to second bank. Vertical control was based upon North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) and the horizontal control was based upon North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 83). Cross-sectional information was field verified using sampling points within the vegetated land classes.
