Wagontown Road Reconstruction
Pennoni provided preliminary engineering, environmental studies, final design, and construction inspection services for this roadway reconstruction and safety improvement project. Due to the effects of Hurricane Floyd, this section of Wagontown Road was closed in September 1999. The project involved the full-depth reconstruction of 1200’ section of T-230 (Wagontown Road) and included the construction of a new 300’ long reinforced concrete retaining wall situated on a steep sloping embankment of the West Branch of Brandywine Creek. Tasks also included survey, erosion and sedimentation control plans, signing and pavement marking plans, PADEP permits, CEE, D-419 utility clearance, and PS&E. The project was the first Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 6-0 local match project that used PennDOT’s ECMS system.
