WWII Memorial Historic Fill Remediation
Pennoni was retained to investigate suspect fill material that was identified on the property during previously conducted geotechnical investigations. Pennoni advanced four soil borings and collected soil samples on the site in locations where the structurally suspect fill material was identified. Pennoni’s soil investigations indicated that the material was historic fill material contaminated with lead and would require remediation, which Pennoni then coordinated and oversaw. Post excavation samples were collected and analyzed in accordance with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) technical requirements for site remediation. The results indicated that the material was sufficiently remediated. Pennoni documented the backfilling of the excavation and prepared a Remedial Action Report for submission to the NJDEP.
