Construction Services Grows with Changes to Region

Pennoni is pleased to announce the promotion of Curtis E. Shugars, PE, to regional technology principal within Pennoni's construction services region and the hiring of John R. Bush, PE, MAS, as a project manager for the construction services region.
Shugars previously served as construction services division manager in the King of Prussia office. In this expanded role, he will now be designated as the principal in charge of construction services projects throughout the region. Shugars will be responsible for the coordination of senior staff, overall contract review and approval, client satisfaction and quality control, and financial reporting. Shugars has more than 35 years of construction engineering experience, 12 of which have been spent working at Pennoni where he provides bridge and highway construction services to clients throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Shugars is a professional engineer in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is an active member of the Delaware Valley Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers. He was named Person of the Year by the local organization in 2010.
Bush will be based in Pennoni's King of Prussia office. As a project manager, he will be responsible for managing the construction management and inspection staff and related projects, client relations, and business development. Bush previously worked as a civil engineer/construction manager in the Delaware Valley, where he managed bridge rehabilitation and improvement and roadway maintenance projects for Pennsylvania's Berks, Chester, and Montgomery counties. Prior experience also includes working for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 6-0, specifically working with Delaware County as the assistant maintenance manager. He earned a bachelor's of science in geology from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a master's of applied science in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Delaware. Bush specializes in bridge and roadway maintenance, as well as construction management and inspection.
