JAMES PEZZOTTI, PE, NAMED STRUCTURAL ENGINEER OF THE YEAR

 

Philadelphia, PA– James Pezzotti, PE, has received the 2017 Structural Engineer of the Year Award from the Philadelphia Section of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Pezzotti currently serves as Associate Vice President and Senior Engineer in Pennoni’s Philadelphia Transportation Division. Pezzotti was presented the award at the annual Spring Social and Dinner Danceon May 4th at the Top of the Tower in Center City, Philadelphia.

A registered professional engineer in three states, Pezzoti’s current duties include managing the day-to-day operation of Pennoni’s Philadelphia Bridge Group which includes 9 Bridge Engineers, ranging in experience level from graduate to senior. Pezzotti has over 31 years of experience in transportation project management, bridge evaluation, design, rehabilitation, hydraulics, load rating analysis and construction. He has in-depth experience with numerous structure types and is proficient in all technical and managerial aspects of bridge evaluation, design and rehabilitation projects. 

A graduate of Villanova University, Pezzotti recently served as the Project Manager/Lead Bridge Engineer for the $65 million Vine Expressway Bridge Reconstruction Project, currently under construction, from 22nd to 18th Streets in Center City, Philadelphia. Pezzoti’s industry recognition includes the following: Outstanding Engineering Project of the Year Award, Burlington County Bridge Commission, Burlington Bristol Bridge, Counterweight Repair Project, ASCE, South Jersey (2016); Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award, PennDOT, Vine Expressway Bridge Reconstruction Project 22nd/18th Streets, PSPE, Philadelphia Chapter (2015); and the Grand Jury Award, PennDOT, Historic Rapps Dam Road Covered Bridge Restoration, Preservation Alliance of Greater Philadelphia (2012).

Upon receiving the award Pezzotti stated he is“honored to be recognized as the ASCE Philadelphia Section Structural Engineer of the Year and how fortunate he is to work with an outstanding team of hard-working, dedicated and talented professionals”.
