Jones Receives Life Time Achievement Award
COLUMBUS, OH— David Jones, PE, has been named the recipient of the 2017 Life Time Achievement Award from the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE). Jones will receive the honor at the ASHE national conference in June.Jones currently serves as Pennoni’s Columbus, Ohio Office Director.
The ASHE Life Time Achievement Award was established to recognize an ASHE member who has supported the organization throughout their career. One ASHE Life Time Achievement Award is presented each year based on the highest composite score of various ranking criteria. Jones has been active in ASHE since 1984 and has served as Central Ohio Section President, National Director, National Second Vice President, National First Vice President, National President, and most recently, as National Treasurer.
Over the course of his career, he has provided structural design or project management on more than 150 bridges. He has developed a philosophy which combines aesthetics with good bridge design. His projects have won numerous design awards, including the Lithopolis-Winchester Road Bridge, Franklin County Engineer; Richland Avenue Bridge, City of Athens; Lane Avenue Bridge, Franklin County Engineer; Woody Hayes Drive Bridges, The Ohio State University; Third Avenue Bridge, Franklin County Engineer; Olentangy Trail Broadmeadows Connector Bridge, City of Columbus; and several bridges along the Alum Creek Multi-Use Trail, Cities of Columbus, and Westerville.
