
Pennoni Engineer Recognized for Outstanding Contributions Nationally and to the Chesapeake Section
PHILADELPHIA – Pennoni a multidisciplinary engineering firm headquartered in Philadelphia, is thrilled to share that Elizabeth Harasty, PE, project engineer in the firm’s Baltimore, MD office, has been named the 2025 American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) Young Member of the Year. Nominated by the Chesapeake Section, Elizabeth was formally recognized during the ASHE National Conference in June at the Kalahari Resort in Pocono Manor, PA.
This prestigious award honors an ASHE member who has made a significant impact on the organization’s growth and development over the past year. Elizabeth’s dedication to the profession and her active involvement with ASHE, where she currently serves as vice president of the Chesapeake Section, have made her a standout contributor.

As a roadway design engineer in Pennoni’s transportation division, Elizabeth brings expertise in geometric highway design, safety and traffic improvements, and ADA accessibility and pedestrian infrastructure. She has worked on a range of transportation projects, preparing plan sets, construction estimates and technical reports, while coordinating closely with clients and project partners. Elizabeth is also an engaged member of several internal Pennoni groups, including the CADD Coordinators Group, PennoniGIVES, and the firm’s sustainability group. Her leadership, collaboration and technical acumen continue to strengthen the company and the industry.
