
Brian Diehl Promoted to COO
PHILADELPHIA—Pennoni, an employee-owned multidisciplinary engineering firm headquartered in Philadelphia announced a planned leadership transition as David Pennoni, PE, chief operating officer, moves into a new role as senior vice president. Succeeding him as COO will be Brian Diehl, PE, currently regional vice president for Pennoni’s Southeast region.
David Pennoni moving into a new role marks the end of a meaningful chapter in Pennoni’s history. He has been deeply involved in the firm’s evolution for more than three decades. Throughout his career, David played a pivotal role in strengthening Pennoni’s operational framework, expanding into new markets and reinforcing the firm’s commitment to technical excellence and client service. His steady leadership helped deliver key projects, provide quality service, and guide strategic growth while preserving the values that have defined Pennoni for 60 years.

Brian Diehl brings extensive leadership and technical experience to the COO role. As regional vice president for the Southeast, he has overseen strategic growth initiatives and multidisciplinary operations while expanding Pennoni’s presence throughout Florida and the broader Southeast. His leadership is grounded in a deep understanding of client needs, a consistent focus on client service and leveraging his experience to deliver thoughtful, responsive solutions.
Brian specializes in designing and managing complex projects, with experience spanning site design, land development, and critical infrastructure systems. Throughout his career, he has managed large-scale government, commercial, athletic, residential, public transportation, industrial and land development projects.
