Pennoni Promotes New Bridge Inspection Practice Lead

Philadelphia, PAPennoni, a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm headquartered in Philadelphia, is excited to announce the promotion of Nathan (Nate) Buttorff, PE, CBSI, senior engineer, to bridge inspection practice leader out of Pennoni’s Newark, DE office.

In his new role, Buttorff will oversee the Pennoni bridge inspection team and ensure technical compliance, staff training, safety and quality standards that meet or exceed client standards and the newly adopted 2022 NBIS.

“I am honored to be the new bridge inspection practice lead here at Pennoni and to have the opportunity to oversee our incredible team of bridge, underwater, and ancillary sign inspection staff. I am excited to continue utilizing innovations such as UAS / drones and non-destructive evaluation techniques to enhance our existing procedures in ways that further promote high quality work and staff safety within our bridge inspections. I am looking forward to the exciting challenges that await as we continue to expand our bridge inspection practice,” says Buttorff.

Buttorff joined Pennoni in 2004, as a graduate bridge engineer from the Pennsylvania State University and has advanced into project management and technical expert advisory roles over the last 18 years. He currently oversees the largest bridge engineering team in the State of Delaware in our Newark Office.  He also currently serves as ASCE Delaware President and is regularly called upon for industry safety advocacy.
