The Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care revolutionizes care for children, standing as the nation’s most state-of-the-art facility for outpatient medicine. Located on the Raymond G. Perelman Campus, the 12-story Buerger Center has been designed to reduce stress for patients and their families and provide a smooth, efficient experience. Completed in 2016, the Buerger Center was the recipient of the ENR 2016 award for “Best of Health Care Project” and the PWD 2017 award “Stormwater Pioneer”.
Pennoni designed and obtained approvals for the innovative, award winning stormwater management system which included four stormwater tanks and three irrigation tanks. The tanks provide over 115,000 gallons of storage. The stormwater management was supplemented with green roofs and landscaping which act as the initial catchment for the first inch of runoff.
Pennoni’s services included survey, environmental, civil/site, and transportation engineering for field investigations, preparation of reports, and preparation of plans addressing the implementation for the design, permitting and construction of the new facility.
