Cira South Parking Garage and Towers

Cira South Parking Garage and Towers

Construction on the Cira redevelopment, which helped transform the University City section of Philadelphia has been ongoing since 2001. The first project was the Cira Centre which is integrated with Amtrak’s historic 30th St. Station building and parking garage. The second phase of development, Cira South, is comprised of two towers, EVO and FMC, connected by a parking garage that includes a green roof park. Cira South was constructed adjacent to the historic post office building. Both phases of the project required extensive coordination to place the improvements along and over significant utility and road infrastructure and over active rail lines.

The Cira Centre is connected to Amtrak’s historic 30th St. Station via a pedestrian bridge called the skywalk. The building features retail space, a fitness center, concierge, and eating facilities. It is strategically located for access to Philadelphia’s transportation center, with access to Amtrak, as well as SEPTA’s mass transit system and the Philadelphia International Airport. The Cira South Parking Garage and Towers is a 14-level parking garage, with two towers (47 and 24-stories) providing residential, retail and office space on the site of the former US Post Office Truck Terminal Annex. The project is bound by Chestnut St. to the north, 30th St. to the west, Walnut St. to the south and active Amtrak rail lines to the east.
