The Pomeroy and Newark Rail Trail is a 1.75-mile pedestrian trail in the City of Newark near the University of Delaware Campus. The trail was a cooperative effort of the City of Newark, DelDOT, University of Delaware and Delaware State Parks. The multi-use trail was designed to revitalize the alignment of the Historic Pomeroy Railway and incorporate features and attributes from the Railway. The trail provides a critical connection to the local public transportation network, including the new Newark Transit Hub, White Clay Creek Park, University of Delaware, and the existing James F. Hall Trail. Pennoni provided survey, right-of-way, transportation, structural, utility, stormwater management, lighting and landscape architecture, construction consultation and inspection services.
