The Willis Avenue Swing Bridge carries traffic northbound over the Harlem River between the Bronx and Manhattan, seeing over 70,000 drivers each day. The original bridge was constructed in 1901 and after the effects of age, weather and usage, the bridge was replaced in 2010 after traveling 135 nautical miles to NY Harbor. Pennoni provided structural steel fabrication and inspection at more than 60 off-site fabrication shops, coating shops, testing laboratories, and materials suppliers located throughout the United States.
