David H. Koch Theater, formerly known as the New York State Theater recently underwent renovations. Improvements included expanding the existing orchestra pit, installing a motorized lift system to raise and lower the orchestra pit in two separate sections, complete replacement of the existing theatrical dimming system, adding a video production center for videotaping performances and distribution video feeds throughout the theater, providing the backbone for a titling system which consists of small monitors located on the backs of each seat to provide sub-titles and other information to patrons of the opera and ballet, providing a motorized system for the light ladders, fire curtain and other stage rigging systems, expanding the follow spot room, and renovating the projection booth and control booth.
