Longevity Meets Flexibility
With nearly 60 years of expertise, Pennoni delivers innovative solutions by approaching engineering challenges from a wider angle than most and fostering collaboration to address current challenges and future demands.
The Philadelphia Museum of Art was founded in 1876 and its current building, in the form of three linked Greek Temples, opened in 1928. In 2005, a 4-story, 442 vehicle underground parking garage located on the Fairmount Park property adjacent to the Philadelphia Museum of Art was added. The project is located between Kelly Drive and the Schuylkill River. The project includes the construction of a sculpture garden on the roof of the structure.
Pennoni provided civil and site engineering design services and construction administration. The project included utility services design, zoning support, site improvements, driveway design and storm sewer facilities design. Sensitivity to the needs of the park and museum setting were required in conjunction with consideration to the detailed landscape architecture design.
