RagingWire designs, builds, and operates mission critical data centers throughout the United States and has three complexes in Loudoun County. Loudoun County is known as Data Center Alley and sees up to 70% of the world’s internet traffic daily. Their initial Loudoun endeavor – a 7-acre site in the Beaumeade Office Park, was transformed from a warehouse into a 141,000-sf, award-winning data center. The project included utilization of reclaimed water for cooling water blow down which was permitted to be discharged directly into the storm sewer system, saving over $750,000 in water availability fees. Pennoni has also assisted RagingWire with a larger campus style development or “Greenfield Site” which has potential for 2 million-sf of data center use at ultimate build-out. Pennoni has been responsible for all site-related design aspects necessary for the Loudoun County Site Plan approval for the project.
